DAVID CÁRDENAS PANTOJA – SENIOR ADVISOR
David Cárdenas Pantoja has a long trajectory in the field of information systems in the oil, manufacturing, finance and consulting sectors. In the last 20 years, he has been working in the field of information security, including serving as President of SCIENTECH de Venezuela, a subsidiary of the U.S. parent company with the same name and a pioneer in information security.
During his career at SCIENTECH from 1997 to 2001, he was stationed for a time in the United States, where is served as Vice President of Information Security of SCIENTECH Inc. for Latin America.
His responsibilities at SCIENTECH included managing information security projects in a number of different countries in Latin America, as well as creating a team of professionals to serve this market.
From 2001 to 2015, David held the position of director as a partner of TALISMAN International, a security consulting firm based in Washington D.C., working as project advisor in the area of information security.
In 2002, he founded GRUPO TELESMA SERVICIOS, a Mexico-based company specializing in information security, and in 2013 he created RISK MANAGEMENT GROUP, a company focused on information risk management, where he led a number of successful projects.
In Mexico, David has been involved in numerous projects involving diagnostics, audits, risk analysis, implementation of management systems, preparation and monitoring of strategic plans concerning the issue of information security and research work for institutions facing situations affecting their information assets.
David has served as a consultant to several organizations to support the management of information security areas, particularly regarding reasonableness of investments and adequate security plans that enable organizations to adjust levels of confidentiality, integrity and continuity of information.
David graduated with a degree in business security management from the Instituto de Postgrado y Formación Continua of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain, and later was a professor of information security at the same university. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Central Missouri State University, specializing in computer science, and a postgraduate degree in marketing management from the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.
